Valentine Red

This yummy tonal-solid ripe raspberry color also has hints of red for fun, and some of these are more on the dark pink side of red, especially the DK sparkle. Perfect as a project stripe or accent color, or for your lace projects to show off those beautiful patterns.

Weight

Yarns are sold in 100g skeins/hanks unless otherwise noted. Yardage is an estimate not exact. Make sure you have enough for your project.

Gauge Swatch

Standard knitting needle and crochet hook sizes are mere suggestions. You will need to consider many factors to determine the actual size tool you'll need for any specific project. The way your hold your yarn, tension on the yarn, the complexity of your project, and more will figure into the size of your tool for a specific project.

We recommend that you first make a 6" to 8" square swatch in the item pattern using the recommended size tool by the designer. Then, wash and block the swatch and measure its gauge.

To measure the gauge in your swatch, choose a row in the middle of your swatch and lay a ruler or measuring tape on it. count stitches across of 4" length, then divide by 4. This will give you the number of stitches per inch.

Likewise, measure the number of rows per inch by measuring using a ruler or measuring tape in the middle of the swatch, a 4" vertical length. Count the rows inside that 4" and divide by 4. This will be your rows per inch.

If you have too many stitches or rows per inch, use a bigger tool and swatch again. If you have too few stitches or rows, go down a size for your tool and swatch again. You may need to adjust how you hold the yarn to obtain a close gauge.

Swatching may seem time-consuming but it's more time consuming and frustrating to spend hours working on a project only to have it end up too small or too large for your needs.

Care Instructions for Woolens

Handwash gently all your wool items in only cold water with a mild wool wash, do not agitate or wring, just squeeze gently.

Then, lay the item flat on a towel and roll it up, then press to remove excess water (stepping on it is acceptable!)

Unroll the towel and remove the item, dry flat out of direct sun, and block it, if necessary.

Got a stain on your woolens?

Check out this guide for removing it.
