Jacob Fleece Even Black or Brown and White

Raw Jacob fleece from a Southeast Ohio farm, shorn either in 2020 or 2021. This selection of fleece has about even black/brown and white.

We heavily skirt to remove the parts with heavy vm, dirt, and excrement. Large pieces of hay and second cuts we find are removed in the cataloging process, though you may still find bits here and there.

These sheep were uncoated so you will find some dirt, small bits of hay, some cotted tips. Usually these are not on the card/in the description. If you have a fleece with some brittle tips or cotting, you can choose to cut off the tips before cleaning or as you process the fleece.

Dirt will wash out after a good overnight soak in cold water. Pick out bits of hay or let it fall out as you process.

Most of all, have fun with your new project!
